Since 17 February, the Haus der Kunst in Munich has been showing the first comprehensive presentation of works by the Düsseldorf-based photographic artist Thomas Ruff (born in 1958) for over ten years (until 20 May 2012). They range from his early factual portraits from the 1980s to his latest pictures of the surface of Mars, which he took from NASA’s website and turned into art.
